Davidson County Residents Only

Amplifier repairs are only available to residents of Nashville/ Davidson County, Tennessee. Repair by mail is not available. If you do not live in Davidson County, I can not help you unless you have brought me two or more repairs previously. Davidson County includes Nashville, Belle Meade, Forest Hills, Lakewood, Madison, and Berry Hill.

WHAT I FIX:

Almost all vacuum tube type guitar and bass guitar amplifiers, including Fender, Marshall, Mesa, Matchless, Vox, Ampeg, Hiwatt, Sound City, Peavey, Gibson, Sunn, Garnet, VHT, and many others. Occasionally I'll work on a McIntosh , Dyna, or even Scott tube stereo . Many solid-state guitar amps have also been fixed here. I have no employees or apprentices. I do all the work personally.

REPAIR COSTS:

Nine out of ten tube amp repairs are completed for a total labor cost of $50 to $80 . Routine service including a comprehensive cleaning, (not just a spray job), tube check, power tube biasing, and bench test runs only $50. SVT routine service is $65 . There is a non-refundable bench fee of $40, which is applied to "Repair Labor" on all completed repairs.

APPOINTMENTS:

You will need to make an appointment to drop off your amplifier. While-you-wait service is not available.  Weekday afternoons are best, some Saturdays. Most tube guitar amps get repaired within 5-10 days. $50 Bench Fee collected in advance. Cash and local checks only. SVT Bench Fee $60 . 9.25% TN sales tax on electronic repairs and parts.

CONTACT INFORMATION:

  Email: info@davidsonamp.com
If you dislike typing, just list the make and model of your amp, what's wrong, and a couple of convenient times for you to come in. Emails are usually answered promptly and in some detail. Attachments of photos, scanned bills, schematics, etc. are very welcome.

WHAT I DO NOT FIX:

I do not fix car stereos, tape decks, phonographs, console stereos of any kind, digital signal processors, or guitar effect pedals of any kind.
Also not welcome:
Trace Elliot bass or acoustic guitar amps, ART, Carvin, or the Peavey digital bass amps. But I admit that I make occasional exceptions for regular customers only, and I have done some work with mic pres, etc. I like new customers to start off with either vintage or widely used modern guitar or bass amps to guarantee the smoothest possible experience for both of us. Always ask if in doubt.
